George Lucas Gets Engaged

There seems to be a disturbance in the Force, as ‘Star Wars’ creator George Lucas is set to marry his long time girlfriend! Congrats!

In a galaxy very very close to George Lucas, he just got engaged to his longtime girlfriend and businesswoman, Mellody Hobson, and NO, it’s not his sister!
Now that George has quite a lot of time on his hands after selling off his Star Wars franchise to Disney, he has taken his free time and made good use of it, as he is now engaged to his seven-year-strong girlfriend Mellody, E! News confirms.
This is the first marriage for Mellody but the second for the 68-year old creator of arguably the biggest movie franchise of all time. We have yet to confirm if Chewbacca will be the best man.
Speaking of the franchise, we all know that the next film in the series is slotted for 2015, and George is excited for what will happen. He spoke about his thoughts when he sold the franchise, saying, “For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next. It’s now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. I’ve always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime. I’m confident that with Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy, and having a new home within the Disney organization, Star Wars will certainly live on and flourish for many generations to come. Disney’s reach and experience give Lucasfilm the opportunity to blaze new trails in film, television, interactive media, theme parks, live entertainment, and consumer products.”
Looks like everything is going amazingly well for George and we are very happy for all the good news that has been happening in his life.
